Media Contour is looking for a cutting-edge, freelance front-end web developer/engineer. 

What we see you doing...

• Convert Photoshop designs into cross-browser compatible, valid XHTML/CSS markups.
• Work with extremely talented people in a fun environment, while raising the performance bar on advanced JavaScript, CSS, and HTML code.
• Work with a precise, yet efficient, approach towards producing high quality code.
• Create high performance client-side software applications that power our clients’ websites.
• Be responsible for end-to-end product ownership by supporting feature rollouts and fixing site issues.
• Enjoy the challenges of mastering the behavior of the major browsers to deliver a consistently superior user experience.

Skills we are looking for...

• Creativity, passion and a constant search for opportunities to develop and innovate.
• Advanced understanding of JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, and CSS.
• Working knowledge of one or more of the following: jQuery, Yui, Dojo Toolkit, Prototype or MooTools.
• Familiarity with content management systems, like WordPress, SilverStripe, or ExpressionEngine. 

Other impressive traits...

• Prior agency experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Naturally a self-motivated, well-oiled machine.
• Good communication skills.
• Results-oriented and comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced understanding and proficiency in jQuery.
• Working knowledge of AJAX, JSON, and HTTP.

This position will be contracted on a project-by-project position.  You can work from home, if you’d prefer, but we need you to be able to come in for the occasional meeting.
